A little about Tomi Anne's background . . . .

Tomi and "Tuff Act to Follow"

"There was never much doubt that I would be involved in the horse world. With a father who was one of the premier equine veterinarians in the Northwest (Dr. John W. Metcalf, DVM), a grandfather who was the first person inducted into the Northwest Saddlebred Hall of Fame (Thomas Metcalf), and an uncle who is a top western trainer and owns one of the top barns in Texas (Steve Metcalf), my fate was inevitable. It was just a matter of which discipline I chose to pursue. Growing up on a Thoroughbred breeding farm in Washington State mucking stalls, feeding, training, and caring for my horses was just part of life.

                                            Tomi and "Root Beer Float"

I started riding hunters and showing "A" system shows up and down the west coast at the ripe age of 9. After a few years in the pony division I then worked my way up to the children's ring. It was next on to the junior's ring and medal classes. Along the way I qualified for just about every "final" available on the east coast while riding both my horses and client horses.

Now almost 30 years later, and a lot of show miles under my belt, I'm not only a mom to our two boys, but I am also mom to a 5 yr. old Trakehner Warmblood, Fancy, who I'm bringing along to hopefully one day be my up and coming star in the four foot show ring.

Tomi and "Beats Walkin' "

Adulthood has taught me that one of the great joys in life is seeing the huge smile on a child's face when they find that special connection with a horse. This great sport not only teaches respect for an animal, it also teaches confidence, responsibility and discipline. It is such an honor to be able to work with these wonderful animals as well as training the stars of tomorrow!"
